Baking and Family

Baking is not the same when my siblings are not around -- they're my biggest fans! They get super excited every time I'd bake in my mommy's kitchen! Mick would ask me every ten minutes what time the cake/cookies/cupcakes will be ready. Jof is always the first one to try the goodies. Angel usually keeps me company during the preps, making kwento all the way until the goodies are in the oven. Baking without Mick, Jof and Angel is like performing without an audience. No offence to my husband and daughter -- they're crazy about my baking too, but my siblings are my original groupies.

I wish you guys were here so you can try out the goodies that I baked the other day...

Banana Cake
I was inspired to make this because we had bananas at home and Richard said we had to eat them soon or else they will become over ripe. It's also supposed to have chocolate chips in it but I wanted it plain. Oh yeah, it should have baking soda too, but I didn't have any at home. In spite of all these omissions, the cake still tasted good!

White Chocolate Mousse Pie
I used Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies with pecan for the crust. Alyannah has been snubbing them for some time now so I made them into this. I wish I had more though, so that the crust will be thicker. Nevertheless, it was heavenly! Creamy, dreamy and not too sweet.

I can imagine my siblings drooling over the pictures now. Hehe!

Let me share with you my baking secret. I never bake when I'm in a bad mood because I believe that all the negative energy will be channeled into the food. When you're masungit or angry, the food won't taste good. Always bake with love -- same goes for cooking. Think about how happy and excited your family is about whatever you're cooking and you will feel great about it. After all, your family IS the reason why you're baking or cooking in the first place.

Teach me how to bake. I wish I have the time and kitchen to do all the baking. I'm so jealous.
