Aly's 6th Birthday -- The Big Day!

Our little girl was super duper excited for her big day. So excited, that on the onset of March, she would ask me or her daddy every morning if it's almost her birthday. Upon waking up, her first question would be: "Mommy/daddy, what day is it today? Is it almost my birthday?". Then, a week before the big day, she started her countdown. Eager beaver talaga.
a
a
I also told you that she was hands-on with the preparation of the lootbags. And she was the one who chose her cake design! Not me, not her daddy, but our little girl herself! We showed her other designs, just so she would have other options, but she fell in-love with the Minnie Mouse cake the moment she saw it.
a
a
On the eve of her birthday, before we tucked her in, Richard and I gave Aly a big hug and a big kiss. We told her that when she wakes up the next morning, she will no longer be five years old; she will be six! Our little girl was thrilled!

Good morning, sunshine! This is what she wore to school on her birthday: a Minnie Mouse headband with matching socks! Stariray talaga! She had to go with the theme.
a
a
While Aly was in school, her dad and I stayed at home to prepare the stuff that we will be bringing for lunch. March 27 was a schoolday so we planned a simple celebration, which was to bring cake and goodies for Aly to share with her classmates and teachers.
a
a
Richard fixed Aly's gifts so that they will be ready when she arrives from school.

Singing Happy birthday!
a
a
The moment Aly blew the candle, her classmates started grabbing the paper plates! Gigil na sila sa cake! Haha!
a
a
We were sad that we had to slice the cake...it was so pretty!
a
a
Bye, bye Minnie Mouse!
a
a

All the girls were waiting for me to slice the part where Minnie's dress was because they wanted to eat it! Haha!
a
a

Yummy cake!

Then it was time to distribute the loot bags.

The noisemaker balloon was a hit!

Big kiss from the birthday girl!

Time for our favorite part: opening the gifts! Look at her different reactions as she opens her gifts. Sobrang animated! It was fun watching her opening her gifts! And take note, she would pose for a photo first before she opens each gift. Once again, umiral na naman ang pagiging stariray ng anak ko!

Next, you will see the gift that excited her the most -- based on her expression, that is. It was such a precious moment that it made me teary-eyed. I'll tell you why later.
a
a
What is this?
a
a
No, it can't be...
a
a
Yes it is!
a
a
A High School Musical 2 DVD! Yipee!!!
a
a
I'm so happy!
a
a
So why did this moment bring me to tears? Just seeing my little girl truly, very happy and excited touched me very deeply. Sorry, ang drama ko. But seriously, this single moment made it all worth it. As in, everything -- yung pagod sa pagbubuhat sa Chinatown, walking under the heat, and everything else that came with the birthday preps, were all wiped out by that huge grin on my little girl's face. Natuwa lang talaga ako that she loved everything that her daddy and I prepared for her birthday.
a
a
Anyway, enough drama. Here's our last gift.
a
a
A new pair of Crocs as she requested.
a
a
We also had a simple dinner. I just prepared some of Aly's favorite food like spaghetti, roast chicken...and we also ordered her favorite cheese pizza!
a
a
After dinner, Richard brought out our last birthday surprise...
a
a
...six cupcakes for the six-year-old.
a
a
After this she asked me if there were any more surprises. I told that was the last one. It's funny because she would always tell us that she is now six years old. And she really says it with pride! More like bragging pa nga eh. Being six meant a lot to her. She's older na daw kasi. Akala mo naman, ang tanda na talaga nya. Haha!
a
a
To our big girl baby Aly, happy birthday! May all your wishes come true :) We love you, babe! Don't grow up too fast, ok?
