The Gift of Time

Both Richard and I have a thing for wristwatches. I remember when we were still dating, he would make pasikat by wearing a different watch on each date. How do I know that he's making pasikat back then? Because now that we're married, he doesn't change his wristwatch that often anymore. But that's ok, because I get to wear the ones that he leaves at home. Haha!

Last Saturday, we went to Central Childom to buy our first wedding anniversary gift: a pair of his and hers wristwatches. I won't reveal the exact watch yet because Richard and I agreed that we will only wear it on our anniversary weekend. So I kept it in a place where I won't see it to avoid temptation.

Anyway, since we were already wristwatch shopping, we also bought our little girl her own watch.

I love this watch because it's really designed for kids -- it has colorful prints, plus the color of the hour and minute hands correspond to the color of the hours and the minutes on the dial, making it really easy for the kids to learn how to tell the time! It reads: with FLIK FLAK learning to tell time is a kid's game! The two FLIK FLAK hands are a fun-loving brother and sister. Little FLAK is red. She's the hour-hand and points to the 12 red numerals for the hours. FLAK moves very slowly and takes a whole hour to move from one numeral to the next. The minute-hand is her big brother FLIK, who's blue. He's a lot faster than FLAK and takes only one minute to move from one dot to the next within the blue circle. When FLIK has made a complete circle of the dial, he's back at 60 and one hour has passed. But little FLAK doesn't worry about racy FLIK overtaking her all the time because she know that a watch or clock needs two hands to tell the time.
