Hong Kong - Macau: Senado Square + Ruins of St. Paul's

After breakfast, we still had a lot of time to spare so we decided to do a little sightseeing before going to the airport. We packed our bags, checked out of the hotel and headed to Senado Square.

We rode on one of those black cabs.

On our way to Ruins of St. Paul's, we passed by a church and went inside.
a
aWalking uphill to the Ruins, where there were a lot of pasalubong shops along the way.
a
a
Ruins of St. Paul's. We didn't climb up anymore, pagod na kasi kami. Heehee!
a
a
After taking a good number of photos, I immediately headed to the nearest pasalubong shop to buy some goodies for my in-laws...
a
a...and to buy myself a Portugese egg tart. Soo heavenly! I brought home a box of these!
a
a
We still had plenty of time to spare, so we decided to chill at Starbucks.
a
aCaramel Frapuccino for me :)

More family photos!
a
aMore Macau city scenes. In these photos, we were checking out the area near Senado Square.
a
aFinally, it was time to go back to the hotel, get our luggage and head to the airport.

Hong Kong - Macau: The Venetian

Yesss!! We survived our first foreign bus ride and we made it to The Venetian! Yey!
a
a
I really wanted to go and see The Venetian after my best friend Pat and her family went here last year. She told me that we should go too because the whole family is sure to enjoy it (read all about her trip here). Then, I also saw how they built the place on Discovery Channel. I was so intrigued, I knew we had to go and see the place for ourselves!
a
a
I'm glad we did because The Venetian is one gigantic piece of art! It truly is a must-see for the family when in Macau.
a
a
I'm happy too that we FINALLY remembered to bring our tripod so we were able to take photos with the entire family in it!

a

This hotel is huge! You can easily get lost in it!
a

At St. Mark's square with the beautifully painted ceiling. It's made to look like a real sky; the clouds seem to move along with you as you walk...
a
a
...but as you can see here, it's just an illusion.
a

Exploring the Grand Canals...and doing a little window shopping on the side as well. Heehee!

Gondola.

Aly was scared to go near the statue. Can you see her hiding behind her dad?

Wanna play poker?

Street performers.

With guest performer (in red shirt). Haha!
a
a
I couldn't resist. I had to have my photo taken with my lola.

Madonna for Louis Vuitton.
a
a
I have a confession to make: I broke my dad's no-shopping policy. Heehee! While the boys (Richard, dad, Mick + Jof) were at the casino, we, the girls (me, mom, Angel + Aly), did what we do best -- shopping! Okay, mom and Aly are not really counted kasi they stayed behind at the food court so they're off the hook. Kami lang ni Angel ang may sala! Haha! But it wasn't not really big-time shopping! We just bought a few knick knacks like See's chocolates, Godiva, almond cookies at Choi Heong Yuen Bakery...I also bought two pairs of jeans from Bossini (sale kasi!). Hmmm...now that I mentioned it, puro food pala so it doesn't really count as shopping! Hehe!
a
a
After blowing off most of my allowance on those luxurious chocolates (wouldn't hurt to try those yummy chocolates at least once in your life, right?), we took a cab back to the hotel.
a
a
The Venetian at night. Sorry for the blurry pic. The cab was really fast! I was barely able to take this shot.
a
a
The boys arrived at the hotel a few minutes after we had settled in. You might be wondering how things went at the casino, let's just say that they were in it for the experience. Hehe!
a
a
It was a long, tiring day but we enjoyed every single minute of it.
