Uh, oh!

Aly never really cared about make-up.  Sometimes, just for kicks, I'd ask her if I can put make-up on her but she would give me an emphatic "NOOO!!" and run away from me.
a
a
That was before.  Just recently, she started becoming curious.  Out of nowhere, she asked me if she can take a look at my make-up case.

She opened every tube of lipstick and mascara; my eye shadow palettes and blush...marveling in every color and scent.  She also asked me to explain how I use them.  My favorite was when she was looking at my eye and lip pencils, she told me they look like the colored pencils that she uses for school.  I said they're almost the same, but instead of coloring images on paper, I use them to color my face.  Heehee!
a
a
Aly's curiosity with make-up took me completely by surprise because like I said, she didn't really care about it before.  She never wanted to try it on and I never caught her playing with my make-up either (I wish I did because that would be really cute!).  She didn't try them on, though.  She just looked and smelled.  Even though.  I think we're on THAT stage now.  Big UH, OH!

Aly's Photoshoot

Aly was chosen by the school to be one of the models for their bulletin board.  They had a photoshoot last week.
a
a
The theme was theater.  In this photo, Aly was being "measured" for costumes that the students use for school plays.
a
a
That's my Aly!
a
a
They said they chose Aly because she photographs well.  One of the school officials told me that I have a beautiful daughter.  Ofcourse!  Kanino pa ba magmamana yan?
a
a
Aly's with one of the 2nd grade mommies, Kim.  Aly was a bit nervous about the shoot but Kim guided her and eventually she warmed up to the camera.  She's awesome!

KCG 2011: Homemade Bread

Flour tortillas are not exactly bread BREAD but there was a fair amount of kneading and rolling pin action involved in the preps, both of which I don't normally do in my everyday cooking so pwede rin for my cooking goals.
a
a
Making homemade tortillas is easy and you don't need a lot of ingredients.
a
a
What you need: salt, warm water, vegetable shortening and flour.
a
a
They're not perfect yet, but with practice, I will get there.  What I love about this is now that I know how to make these babies, I don't think I'll go back to store-bought ones.  Heehee!

My New Toy

You know already that I got a Cuisinart hand blender on Mother's Day.  Yesterday, Aly and I played with it.  Whee!!
a
a
For the blender's inauguration in Krisan's kitchen, we made salsa.
a
a
I just threw in a mix of tomatoes (cored and seeded), white onion and a couple of sprigs of cilantro.
a
a
My new toy looking so badass in my kitchen :)  Pardon me, we're still on the honeymoon stage here.
a
a
There goes my new baby!
a
a
Mexican salsa with cheese sticks.
a
a
I normally like my salsa on the chunky side, but Aly and I got carried away pressing the button on the blender/chopper.  Naging puree tuloy.  Heehee!
a
a
We also made lumpiang shanghai that day and we used it to chop the carrots and onions.  It cut my prep time in half.  I love it!
a
a
Oh, to be young and in love...yes, I'm young (walang kokontra) and yes, I'm love with this baby!  Thanks again, sweetie for my new toy!

Gigil with Aly's Outfit

I love how my little girl surprises me with her fashion choices.  When we come home from school, she gets out of her school uniform and changes into play clothes herself.  And I always look forward to that moment when she skips out of her room so I can see what she chose to wear for the afternoon.  One of my favorites are her itty bitty shorts which she pairs with long socks.

Socks: from a tiangge

I know, I followed her around like a crazy mommy!  But I was just waiting for the right moment where I can grab her and pinch her butt.  Heehee!  Gigil!!  She loves it when I get gigil with her.  I can't help it.  My babe is just too cute!!
